Jazz Against Violence

Back for a fourth year, Jazz Against Violence is now on Sale. Come and enjoy three brilliant live acts, delicious food, cocktails, raffles and a live auction. Every ticket, raffle entry and auction bid goes straight towards Solace's work with survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence: refuge, support, a way forward. Good music, good company, and a cause that deserves your attention as well as your support.

The Lineup

Louise Golbey is one of the most established singer / songwriters on the London Soul / Jazz scene. The voice behind the Mercedes EQS advert she has supported the likes of En Vogue, Roy Ayers, Roberta Flack and George Benson, played at Glastonbury and Isle of Wight Festivals and has worked with UK Soul legend Omar.Her highly anticipated 3rd studio album 'On With The Show' is out now and features a track with UK RnB royalty Nate James (our evening's MC) and rapper Kinetik. Louise brings soul-soaked vocals and a serious pedigree to Amazing Grace.

Judy Kawaguchi Founder of eCubed and Jazz Against Violence, and Ambassador to Solace Women's Aid after three terms as a Trustee, Judy has been organising various music related fundraisers in support of Solace. Classically trained before falling for jazz, she draws on Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Nina Simone to deliver jazz standards and cabaret classics with real warmth. Her performances have taken her from Pizza Express Live in Holborn to cocktail bars across London and Tokyo. This year, she takes to her own stage once again.

Beluga Jazz Trio led by the singing bass player Louis Gascoyne, Beluga is a london based original project which fuses jazz, rnb and pop. Joined by Thomas Sladden on piano, and Frank Hawkes on drums. Heavily inspired by Tom Misch and Esperanza Spalding.

The Details

Doors open at 6pm, giving you time to settle in, grab a drink and catch up before the show. Complimentary canapés are served for all ticket types between 6pm and 7pm. Music starts at 7pm, with Nate James on MC duties and Judy Kawaguchi, Louise Golbey and Beluga all taking the stage with DJs between sets.
